It’s Easy to Go Green
Going green has become a buzzword now. It’s good to see that we have finally realized the importance of environment and are willing to conserve it. But how are we to conserve our precious environment? While a lot of us may know the ways to go eco-friendly, many of us still remain confused about proceeding in the right direction. As a matter of fact, going green is pretty simple. It’s all about doing our everyday work in a way that is eco-friendly. Following are some tips to go green.
We all use a lot of electronic gadgets like remote controls, mobile phones etc. and discard them after some time even if they are functioning well. This accumulates into toxic electronic wastes that further pollute the environment. We should try to use electronic gadgets as long as they function properly. Recycling of electronic products is a great way to avoid e-wastes. So, if you have an old cell phone, give it out to somebody or change its look with a new cover and start reusing it. However, it is very much understandable that all electronic goods cannot be used for long. Hence, it should be disposed off with consultation from experts who can give you a clear idea of destroying these products in an environmental friendly way.
Save energy and save environment. Use CFLs to light up your surroundings. While covering short distances, it is better to walk or cycle to reach your destination. This saves on the petrol/ diesel consumption, cuts down costs and saves the environment from harmful gaseous emission.
Consider buying secondhand products. Electronic appliances and furniture in good condition can easily serve your purpose. If you are bothered about the look and feel of the furniture, renovate it. Design it the way you want and get it polished.
We rely a lot on printed materials. The use of petroleum based inks and laminates leads to the emission of high volumes of VOCs that, in turn, affects the atmosphere. This further increases the risk of respiratory diseases. Hence, to save the environment, consider getting your print jobs done from a green printing house. Green printers use paper that is sourced from FSC certified companies. Also, the entire printing process is planned to produce optimum results with minimal energy consumption.
After all, it’s this easy to go green.
