Gas stove is a cooker which uses natural gas, propane, butane, Liquefied petroleum gas or other flammable gas. Liquid profane gas as the fuel is termed as gas cookers. The first gas stoves were developed as early as the 1820s, but these remained isolated experiments. These have several benefit over electric cooker and therefore are utilized more as compared to electric cookers. Cookers are used for cooking food in an efficient way. It takes less time to cook food and does not require a great deal of fuel sources.

There are advantages using gas cooker:
• Gas based cookers are handy to control as no complex mechanism is used in these devices.

• The level of heat can be simply controlled in such types of cookers.
• Gas is competent of producing moist heat which helps in retaining all the natural juices of the food item.

• Running this cooking set is less costly since LPG gas is cheaper than electricity.

• Users are not dependent on power supply and they can cook food anytime they wish to.
• Cooking on gas is a cheaper option as compared to cooking using electricity.

• The food cooked in gas oven does not get dried as it happens in case of electric cookers.

• The food can be cooked quickly as there is no time lag among switching on the gas and the heat generation. As contrast to this, an electric cooker will take longer to get heated.
• Certain types of bread can only be made on gas cookers.

• You can adjust the flame to work up or decrease the heat instantly which is not possible in electronic cookers.
But using gas cooker you must be careful . Gas cookers are prone to fatal accidents if proper safety standard are not taken. You need to take care about the following if you are using a gas cooker. Safety points to be memorized while using gas cookers:

• If the gas is supplied through pipeline, switch off the supply throughout night time and whenever you are going on vacation. Likewise, you are using a LPG cylinder; you need to turn the knob off at night. Switch off the main supply if you are going to be away for a while.
• You need to call a technician soon and switch off the main supply, if you suspect a gas leakage. Open all the windows to allow free air and do not switch on the lights
